How Many Avionics "Doctors" Do You Know Who Provide On-Site Service To Aircraft Owners?
Like the fabled country doctors of old, who made house calls on their patients, Kings Avionics provides on-site repair service for customers who, for one reason or another, can't bring their aircraft to the Kings facility at Salt Lake City International Airport.
Unlike the old doctor's horse and buggy, Steve Hayden's modern 38-ft. motor home, which is also a mobile mini-avionics lab, is powered by a 330-hp Cummins Turbo-Diesel. It is also equipped with electric generating equipment for air conditioning and to power avionics test gear. |

To accommodate these aircraft owners, Kings Avionics technicians travel up and down the Wasatch Front, and even into Nevada. Stuart Ashenden recently went to Elko to perform avionics services for Casino Express Airlines and El Aero Aviation. Steve Hayden, who travels regularly to southern Utah, services avionics customers in St. George and other communities between Salt Lake City and the Arizona line.
Technician Lynn Mitchell, who is also Chief Inspector for Kings Avionics, spends much of his time at Ogden, Utah servicing avionics for Great Western Aviation, a major charter operator and Cessna Aircraft dealer, as well as for other companies, and for the U. S. Forest Service. Lynn has a broad background in aviation. In addition to his training and experience as an avionics technician, he worked for five years as an aircraft mechanic for TWA before relocating to Salt Lake City.
Steve Hayden travels in his 38-ft. motor home when he goes to St. George and other points in the southern Utah area. It not only provides comfortable living quarters wherever Steve goes in that area, but it is also Steve's mobile avionics laboratory—complete with the tools and test equipment he may need to solve most any avionics problem he is likely to encounter.
If you have a problem getting your aircraft to the doctor's office, perhaps the doctor can come to see you. For more information, call 801-539-8412. Ask for Doug Hayden or Steve Hayden.
