Garmin TAWS Upgrades Available Soon For GNS 530s Already In Use
Terrain Option Upgrades Also Available For GPS 500s And 400s...
If you operate a turbine-powered aircraft subject to the FAA's March 29, 2005 TAWS mandate and have an older GNS 530 in it, Garmin will upgrade your 530 to meet the new TAWS requirement. The upgrade will be done in Garmin's factory, with removal and reinstallation by authorized Garmin dealers.
And for aircraft with installed Garmin 500 and 400 series GPS systems, that are not required to comply with the TAWS mandate, Garmin offers a terrain options upgrade which can be arranged through authorized Garmin dealers.
