Garmin Now Upgrading Its GNS 530s To Comply With March 29 TAWS Mandate
Here's good news for operators of turbine powered aircraft required by FAA mandate to have an approved terrain awareness and warning system (TAWS) installed by March 29. Garmin is now upgrading GNS 530 Navigators in customer aircraft. The upgrade costs considerably less than a new TAWS-equipped unit. To have your GNS 530 upgraded, bring your aircraft to us. We will remove your unit and send it to the Garmin factory, which will upgrade the unit and return it to us. We will reinstall it without delay.
