Is Your Aircraft As Legal As You Think It Is?
As every aircraft owner knows, the annual inspection covers a long list of items that need to be checked and signed off by the A&P who does the inspection. Sometimes the A&P finds a deficiency, such as a transponder that has not had the required biannual inspection. He should call this to the owner's attention so the owner can contact an avionics shop to have the inspection done promptly.
If your transponder has not been inspected within the last 24 months, you need to have it done or your aircraft cannot be legally flown above 10,000 feet or inside controlled airspace.
