Million Air Selects Kings Avionics To Upgrade FMS In Gulfstream III
Million Air--Salt Lake City, a full service FBO and worldwide charter operator based at Salt Lake City International Airport, recently selected Kings Avionics to perform a major upgrade to the flight management systems (FMS) in one of its Gulfstream III aircraft. Our assignment was to remove two Universal UNS-1C Flight Management Systems and upgrade them to UNS-1C+ Super FMS status, then reinstall and reconfigure in the aircraft.
The project required extensive rewiring, installation of a new high-speed data loader for the FMS memory, updating the Flight Manual Supplement and securing approval from the aircraft certification office of the FAA.
Work on this project was performed on an accelerated schedule, as the aircraft was scheduled to depart for the Far East on the day after the work was completed.
