Quality Assurance--Something We Worry A Lot About, So You Won't Have To
Possibly the most important person involved in any job that goes thru our shop never lays a hand on the installation or repair being performed. Yet his fingerprints are all over it. His name is Brian Low. He's our Quality Assurance Manager and FAA Coordinator. His full-time job is to make sure we meet the highest quality standards in our industry. Brian maintains files of all FAA regulations, plus Service Bulletins issued by avionics manufacturers. Brian not only keeps himself up to date on this and other vital information, but sees that it is communicated to the appropriate Kings technicians to which it pertains.
At Kings Avionics, every repair or installation has a specific step by step inspection procedure that is carried out in sequence, and each step requires an inspection approval before it can continue. Parts to be installed are inspected and placed in protective packaging until used. Even the aircraft itself is inspected before work begins to assure its compliance with FAA regulations.

Brian often conducts unscheduled inspections. Here he is double-checking an actual installation against blueprints and specifications |
After 35 years with the Department of Defense, Brain is highly familair with FAA requirements and procedures. He has also completed 7 years with Kings Avionics, where he conducts vendor audits, prepares all Kings Avionics procedures and inspection manuals, writes FAA Form 337s, which cover major repairs and alterations, and works with the FAA to secure approvals of STCs. Brian conducts monthly Quality Assurance meetings. Attendance by all Kings Avionics technicians is mandatory. Other interested employees are welcome. These meetings are not monologues. Full participation is encouraged, and all questions are welcomed.
Brian is not an easy man to please. We hope Kings Avionics customers are glad he's here, because we certainly are.
